New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday said that it has arrested a Superintendent, working in the office of Central Goods and Services Tax in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, in a graft case.
CBI officials said that arrested officer, Vikas Kumar, was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 3 lakh from the complainant for favouring an audit report.
The official said that the agency has registered a case on Thursday, and laid a trap on Friday and arrested Kumar.
The agency also carried out searches at the premises of the accused which led to recovery of cash amounting to Rs 3.50 lakh and some incriminating documents.
