YSR Congress Party(YSRCP) today alleged that Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was adopting double standards in the investigation process and was showing ‘undue favour’ to some individuals and political parties. CBI Joint Director, V Lakshminarayana did not show the same measure of urgency he had shown in investigating Mr YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s case,party spokesperson Janak Prasad alleged here. The CBI swung into action within 24 hours of the court order against Mr Jagan but it did not bother to take copy of court order even after two months in case of Chandrababu Naidu.
This discrimination is raising many doubts, he charged. When a section of media is writing about the investigation agency, Lakshminarayana never condemned them, as the service rules prescribe. This gives an impression that he is following somebody’s agenda, he alleged. Mr Naidu was allowed to go scot free in the IMG land case though the irregularities were glaring while in Emaar properties case, Mr Sunil Reddy was arrested when he was named by T Ranga Rao. The CBI said that it will not oppose if the latter applies for anticipatory bail, he alleged The CBI, he alleged, was not going according to the rule book. but ‘it seems that they are being dictated by someone’he said. UNI
