Hamed Mohammad Khan, Chairman Moment for Peace and Justice, urged the central and state governments to construct a mosque at Maulana Azad National University on par with Jamia Milia Islamia and Aligarh University since due to lack of mosque at Maulana Azad National University, 3000 students studying in the university are compelled to offer Friday prayers in scorching sun. He further said that the attitude of Vice Chancellor MANUU Mohammad Mian is not only envious towards Urdu language but he has publicly said that he does not want to see burqa-clad women and men wearing caps and beard in the university premises.
This clearly indicates that the vice chancellor not only keeps malice towards Urdu language but is also trying to do away with the aims and objectives of the university on which it was formed. Mr. Hamed Mohammad Khan expressed these view while addressing the protest dharna programme staged by struggle action committee formed to stop the irregularities continued in Maulana Azad National University.
Former Rajya Sabha MP Syed Aziz Pasha, TRS Politburo member Vinod Kumar, Abdur Raheem TDP leader, Khaja Moinuddin, advocate Mohammad Ifteqaruddin, S A Mannan, Shaikh Shamsuddin and others also spoke on the occasion. Comrade Nusrath Mohiuddin chaired the dharna programme.
Mr. Hamed Mohammad Khan also demanded CBI probe against the irregularities in recruitments and selection of non-Urdu candidates.
Mr. Aziz Pasha said that out of 130 universities across the country, MANUU is the only university formed with the purpose of promotion and development of Urdu language but the university is swerving away from its objectives falling prey to the prejudice of some anti-Urdu persons. He warned of staging protest at Jantar Mantar Delhi and before MANUU against government’s failure in stopping the irregularities prevailing in the university.
