The Telangana Government on Friday ordered a CB-CID probe into the alleged use of fake certificates for promotions in the Transport Department.
“It has come to the notice of the government that several employees of the Transport Department who have obtained Degree / Diploma Certificates in Automobile /Mechanical Engineering from the Educational Institutions within and outside the State, have represented for appointment / promotion by transfer of Transport Constables / Senior and Junior Assistants, to the post of Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspectors. Prior to bifurcation of the State of Andhra Pradesh some of the employees were promoted basing on the said certificates and some representations are pending,” said Transport Secretary Sunil Sharma in the orders issued on Friday.
Sunil Sharma informed that the government has decided to conduct a detailed CBCID enquiry to investigate into the genuinity of all such certificates and the recognition and approval of the courses by the Competent Authorities. The CID has been asked to conduct the probe and submit its report at the earliest. (INN)
