Los Angeles: Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett is reportedly in talks to star in Marvel’s “Thor: Ragnarok” as one of the new female leads.
If things work out then the 46-year-old actress will share screen with Chris Hemsworth in the film, reported Variety.
Marvel recently hired female writer Stephany Folsom to revise the early draft written by Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle. Taika Waiti is already on board to direct the “Thor” sequel.
Hemsworth returns to the role of the hammer-wielding hero, supported by Mark Ruffalo as Hulk and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.
“Thor: Ragnarok” is scheduled to be released in the US on November 3, 2017. Blanchett has just been nominated for a Golden Globe, thanks to her role as a married woman engaged in a lesbian affair with younger shop assistant in “Carol”. The 1950s drama leads the Golden Globe nominations list with five.
