Chandigarh, April 11: The CBI today informed the Special Court, hearing the cash-at-judge’s door scam case, that it needed 15 days to start arguments on consideration of evidence against Justice (Retd) Nirmal Yadav.
The Special CBI court heard arguments on whether to issue notices to Justice Nirmal Yadav or not in the wake of the charge-sheet filed by the CBI.
CBI counsel P K Dogra sought 15 days’ time to start arguments on the issue of consideration of evidence gathered against Justice Yadav by the investigating agency.
Special CBI judge Ritu Tagore adjourned the hearing in the case to April 30.
On March four, the CBI charged Justice Nirmal Yadav, then a judge of the Uttarakhand High Court, with conspiracy and corruption in connection with the 2008 cash-at-judge’s door scam.
The scam broke out when Yadav was the judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
