In the present society girl is considered as a burden for the parents, to get rid of this concept the government has launched a unique scheme ‘Bangaaru Thalli’; the scheme will come into effect from May 1.
Talking to press persons Women and Child Welfare Minister Mrs. Sunita Lakshma Reddy made it clear that the scheme was applicable only to girl children of white card families, who were born after May 1, 2013 and pink ration card holders will not eligible to avail the scheme.
The state government will give Rs 1,000 every month to every pregnant woman the moment she conceives till she delivers a baby. If she gives birth to a baby girl, Rs 2,500 will be deposited into her account. Rs 1,500 will be given every year to the family through Anganwadis till the baby attains the age of 5 years.
At the time of admission to school, Rs 1,000 will be deposited into the account, Rs 2,000 will be given every year for her studies from the first to the fifth standard, and Rs 2,500 from sixth to eighth standard, Rs 3,000 for ninth and tenth standard. For the girl’s study of Intermediate, she will be given Rs 3,500 each year, and Rs 4,000 a year during her graduation.
Besides, Rs 1 lakh will be given to the girl towards her marriage expenses soon after her graduation. If the girl stops her education with Intermediate, she will be given Rs 50,000 for her marriage expenses.
