Cases registered against TRS leaders

Hyderabad, June 16: Cases under SC/ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act and other Sections of the IPC have been registered against TRS leaders Karne Prabhakar and Rammohan basing on a complaint lodged by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader and former MP Ravindra Naik. The TRS leaders also filed a complaints against Ravindra Naik and his followers under similar Sections.

Soon after the attack on him at the Telangana Bhavan today morning, Ravindra Naik accompanied by another expelled TRS leader A Chandrasekhar went to the Banjara Hills police station and lodged a complaint against Karne Prabhakar, Rammohan and others. In the complaint, he alleged that he was wrongfully restrained, beaten up and abused in the name of his caste.

Police said cases under SC/ST Atrocities Act and Sections 147 (rioting), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 352 (assault) were registered against the TRS leaders.

Late in the evening, a representative of TRS Vidhyarthi Vibhag, Suman, lodged a complaint with the police that Ravindra Naik and his associate, Raghupathi Reddy, abused him in the name of his caste.

Cases under SC/ST Atrocities Act and Section 323 (causing hurt) were registered against Ravindra Naik and his associate.
