Cases against leaders in Basheer Bagh incident condemned

Opposing filing of cases against the leaders in Basheer Bagh incident 2000, the Lok Satta Party has demanded that the government withdraw the cases. Speaking at a press conference Lok Satta Party general secretary Mr. Srinivas Rao told that it is wrong to file cases against the persons who had protested against the hike in power tariff.

He further told that the CID has accused S Sudhakar Reddy of CPI, B V Raghulu of CPM, G Narsaiah of New Democracy and others, of conspiracy and inciting the mobs which is quite wrong and uncalled for. He told that government by filing cases after 12 years of the rally wants to intimidate the opposition. The violence might have erupted when the government tried to crush public protest. He said.
