Case registered over death threat to councillor, husband

New Delhi: A case has been registered in connection with the death threat to BJP councillor Bhoomi Rachhoya in North Delhi Municipal Corporation, and her husband, police said today.

An FIR was registered at Nangloi police station yesterday on a complaint by Chatar Singh Rachhoya, husband of the councillor, and investigation has begun, a senior police officer said.

In his complaint, Chatar Singh alleged that a man had asked him to stop appearing in a case in CBI court and showed him a gun threatening to kill him and his wife.

Chatar Singh in his complaint said that he and his wife had got one Dharmpal Lakra arrested for giving Rs 1 lakh for allowing unauthorised construction in July 2014, suspecting that he could be behind the threat, the officer said.
