Charminar Police registered a case against TDP Municipal Corporator, Raja Singh and others for violating rules during Ganesh Utsav festivals. It is reported that Raja Singh along with Umesh Sanghvi, Ms. Megharani and others went to some of the Ganesh Mandaps in south zone area late at night and harassed the police officials.
Police department had issued instructions earlier for maintaining law and order situation during Ganesh Festival but Raja Singh and others went to Ganesh Mandaps of sensitive areas in the old city in the late hours of night and performed Pooja. Police took stern action against them and registered cases under section 504 (Disturb peace deliberately) 188 (violation of Govt. orders) 186 (Preventing Govt. officials in performing their duties). Police has kept strict vigil in connection with the ensuring Ganesh Immersion to be held on 29th September.
It is also keeping vigil on the movements of Raja Singh because Raja Singh and his companions had played an important role in the communal riots erupted in 2010. He was arrested and he was also kept in jail for a long time.
