Case registered against export company for refusing job to youth for being Muslim

An FIR was filed against a Mumbai firm on Thursday for denying job to a man for being from the Muslim community in a case of alleged religious discrimination.

Confirming the news, Zeshan Ali Khan, the man who was denied the job said, “Relevant charges have been pressed, FIR has been registered.”

“FIR has not been registered against any individual but against the company,” he added, as per ANI.

Praising the Mumbai Police, he said, “Mumbai Police gave a lot of support, hope that such incidents are not repeated again.”

The young MBA graduate was allegedly declined employment in a diamond export company for being a Muslim, prompting the National Commission for Minorities to seek an explanation from the business house.

The alleged incident also drew criticism from the Centre’s BJP-led government, which said religious discrimination cannot be allowed.
