Case Pending Against Swamy Goud, Police Tells HC

he Begum Bazaar Police have submitted to the High Court that they had filed a charge-sheet against TNGOs’ Union former president Swamy Goud with regard to the TNGOs’ Housing Society issue.

On Wednesday, the police appeared before the court and gave an explanation in response to a petition filed against the police in the court that the police were neglecting the case against Swamy Goud. The police told the Court that the trial was going on in the Nampally Criminal Court on the issue. The police also told the Court that they had registered criminal cases under Sections 404, 406, 420, 120(B), 156(3) IPC.

It may be mentioned here that the State government had appointed Kiranmayi of the Cooperative department to submit a report on the alleged illegal allotment of plots to some ineligible candidates, in response to a petition lodged by some TNGOs in the High Court urging it to scrap the Society as irregularities had taken place in the allotment of plots. Kiranmayi submitted a report stating that Swamy Goud had indulged in irregularities in the allotment of the plots. She also mentioned in her report that the Society had allotted plots without maintaining a book. She also mentioned that 240 plots were allotted in benami the names.

It may be mentioned here that Swamy Goud is contesting MLC elections from TRS party. He may become ineligible to contest in the elections if the court holds him guilty. (NSS)
