Hyderabad: A cheating case has been filed against Narayana concept school located at Narayanguda by an RTI activist for ‘non-adherence’ of norms.
Activist Vijay Gopal blames the school for not abiding by the Norms of ‘AP Educational Institutions Act(Regulation of Admission and Prohibition of capital fee),1983’ as well as orders passed in 2009 by the government about fixing of the certain amount of affordable fee termed as ‘tuition fee or school fee’ in schools.
Non-adherence of these orders is in violation of Section 188 of IPC and is also a cognizable offence on the part of the school he said.
He alleges that the school ‘has not obtained any approval as such’ and the school is charging enormous amounts as tuition fee from parents.
His complaint is against the Chairman of the Narayana Group Dr. P Narayana, Directors, the management and the correspondent of the Narayanaguda branch.
As per the AP Act, school is not entitled to charge its students other than the tuition fee nor can it ask the parents to pay any sort of other invalid fees towards donation or so.
“This school is charging an admission fee of up to Rs 10,000 and taking a building fee from parents separately from Nursery to Class X level, which is in violation of Section 5 of APEI Act 1983 and a violation of the GO Ms 91 of 2009; and of Section 188 of IPC by way of a disobedience of the GOs issued by the government/public servant during 2009” alleges Vijay, as reported in DC.
