Hyderabad: The Chikkadpally police today filed a case against former minister and senior Congress leader D Sridhar Babu under Drugs Control Act.
Mahamutharam TRS leader from Karimnagar district Kishan Reddy lodged a complaint against Sridhar Babu alleging that the latter tried to fix him in a Ganja case in collusion with former sarpanch. Kishan Reddy also revealed the conversation audio held between Sridhar Babu and former sarpanch.
He said a nine-acre land in Odhedu village was in dispute between Sridhar Babu, Sudharshan and Kishan Reddy. In this connection, Sridhar Babu and Sudharshan hatched a conspiracy to fix Kishan Reddy in a ganja case. Both Sridhar Babu and Sudharshan brought ganja with the help of one Bhargav. Sridhar Babu and Sudharshan thought to lodge a complaint with the police against Kishan Reddy keeping the ganja in Kishan Reddy’s animal hut. In the process, Kishan Reddy collected the conversation held between Sridhar Babu and Sudharshan on ganja issue and submitted it to the police while lodging a complaint.
The police analyzed the phone conversation and where from they spoke over cellphones. The police learned that Sridhar Babu spoke from Domalguda and hence they filed a case in Chikkadpally police station as Domalguda comes under Chikkadpally police station. Central Zone DCP Joel Devis said that the dispute between Sridhar Babu and Kishan Reddy was taken place in regard to the land issue. It is learned that the police already detained Sudharshan. (NSS)
