Rewari, August 22: Police today registered a case of cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy against seven persons in connection with allegedly deceitful sale of church land here and shops.
The case was registered by the Model Town police after a complaint was made to Rewari Deputy Commissioner T L Satya Prakash by Delhi Diocese Trust Association Secretary Suresh Kumar who alleged that Alberd Singh, a resident of Aligarh, had deceitfully sold 1129 square yards of land of the compound of the local church as well as its ten shops comprising an area of 288 square yards.
The police booked Singh, Subhash Chand, Usha Yadav of Gurgaon, Shell Narang of New Delhi, Bhagwati of New Delhi, Lal Chand, a revenue official of Rewari and Virender Singh of Pataudi.
The registry of the sale deeds of the property of the church was executed in the tehsil office here on July 27 and a total amount of Rs 13,14,100 by way of stamp duty was paid to the exchequer.
The secretary of the association in his complaint stated that the association had never authorised Singh or any other person for the purpose of selling the property, police said.
