Case against persons who got fake passports made in UP

Lucknow, January 19: Uttar Pradesh Police today lodged a case against some persons, who allegedly managed to get passports for Mumbai-based criminals on fake addresses, a senior police officer said here.

“The ATS has lodged an FIR after it was revealed that some Mumbai based criminals managed to get passports issued from Lucknow with the help of touts on the basis of fake addresses,” Additional Director General of Police (law and order) Brij Lal told reporters here.

He said Mirza Arif Beig, an alleged sharp shooter of Dawood gang, who was operating from Sri Lanka, was arrested by Mumbai crime branch in December last year.

“During interrogation by UP ATS, Beig revealed that with the help of touts he managed to his own passport along with two accomplices Ejaz Rivzi Sams and Haseen Siddiqui issued from regional passport office at Lucknow in 2002,” he said.
