The High Court today struck down a Public Interest Litigation against CBI Joint Director V V Lakshmi Narayana that he was leaking information about his investigations.
One Bhavanam Bhushanam of Guntur filed the PIL in which he stated that the CBI officer was leaking information about details of investigation to select media about investigation into cases, including disproportionate assets case against Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Emaar Properties and OMC cases.
The court which admitted the petition has said that it was not fit for hearing. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on the petitioner for misleading the court.
The court has struck down the petition as another investigation agency was investigating into the issue.
It may be mentioned here that on a petition by the YSR Congress honorary president Y S Vijayamma, the Vigilence Commission has taken up investigation into the leakage of information by the JD.
