Cardamom futures remain weak on easing demand

New delhi: Cardamom futures remained weak for the second straight day and prices fell by another 0.47 per cent to Rs 1,548.10 per kg in futures market today as traders engaged in reducing their exposure, driven by easing demand in the spot market against ample stocks position.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February month fell by Rs 7.30, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 1,548.10 per kg in business turnover 43 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in far-month March contracts moved down by Rs 3.40, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 1,587.10 per kg in 15 lots.

Analysts said besides fall in demand in the spot market, adequate stocks position mainly put pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
