Cardamom futures gain 1.12% on rising demand

Continuing its rising streak for the third straight session, cardamom futures moved up by 1.12 per cent to Rs 850 per kg as speculators indulged in enlarging positions, driven by rising exports and domestic demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in June gained Rs 9.40, or 1.12 per cent to Rs 850 per kg in business turnover of 57 lots.

Also, the spice for delivery in May contracts traded higher by Rs 9.40, or 1.09 per cent to Rs 871.40 per kg in 206 lots.

Enlarging of positions by speculators on the back of rising exports as well as domestic demand in the spot market mainly kept cardamom prices higher at futures trade, analysts said.
