London Police said an accident was not being treated as terrorism-related at this stage. The car had climbed the pavement outside the museum, reported British media.
“Inquiries to establish the circumstances and motive are under way,” police added.
The museum informed on Twitter about the incident, they were working with the police and would provide more information, they wrote on twitter.

Investigation was under way into the matter.
“We have had lots of police coming onto the scene, helicopters above, and I can see an ambulance which is definitely having someone put in, but it isn’t clear how bad that injury is,” an eyewitness said.
