Car bomb kills 7, wound 16 in Iraq

Baghdad, September 07: A car bomb explosion in the western Iraqi city of Ramadi has left at least 7 dead and 16 others wounded, police have reported.

The incident happened after the attacker drove his explosive-laden car into a police checkpoint in the northern neighborhood of Al-Jazeera on Monday.

Among the dead are three policemen. The rest were passersby.

Ramadi is situated 100 kilometers (62 miles) west of the capital Baghdad.
