Leaders of Voice of Telangana demanded the Govt. to include Dairy Development under Agriculture. Captain Panduranga Reddy and Mr. Narasimha Reddy alleged that Govt. of AP is continuing its step motherly treatment with Dairy Development. By including the employees engaged in Dairy Development, Govt. is harassing them. He lamented that water bottles in the state are being sold at the rate of Rs. 18 per bottle but the Govt. is paying only Rs. 17 per litre to the farmers for the supply of milk. These leaders demanded the Govt. to remove VAT on milk and also to include Dairy Development in Agriculture.
Captain Ranga Reddy told that most of the milkmen belong to Telangana. Due to the negligence of the Govt. they are facing a lot of difficulties. Many of them are forced to sell their cattle.
He declared to take out a yatra to highlight the problems of milk farmers. This yatra would be started from Alauddin Mandal of Nalgonda district. The purpose of this yatra is to create awareness among the public about the problems milkmen are facing.
