Capital’s fashion institute hosts show to encourage voting

As polling for India’s general election started Monday, a fashion institute here organised a show to urge youths to participate in the voting.

Fashionista, The School of Fashion Technology, held a fashion show on the theme of Vote India in the premises of the institute at Ansal Plaza Monday.

The theme of the event was chosen to encourage youth to vote, especially the first-time voters.

Students designed t-shirts with slogans and portrayed their love for India by mostly using Indian flag colours. Captions like Make India Win, We Love Men Who Vote and Voters Rock were seen on the tees.

There was also nail art with Vote India written on nails.

Students walked around the area and motivated others as well by shouting out loud the slogan Vote India Vote India.

“The whole concept of voting has always been looked as an activity of older generation. The youth can design a new future for themselves and to address the same motivation in youth, our students have presented their creativity in the form of designer t-shirts,” Neetu Pavan Manikatalia, managing director, Fashionista, said in a statement.

The voting results will be announced May 16 after the nine-phase polling.
