Candle march held in support of Hazare

Lucknow, April 06: Social activists today took out a candle march and held a sit-in at Mahatma Gandhi statue here in support of Anna Hazare, who entered the second day of his indefinite fast.

“The demand of Hazare to enact an anti-corruption bill to give wider powers to the Ombudsman, should be immediately implemented to get rid of corruption,” Manjula Upadhyay of Nagrik Uttar Pradesh, a social organisation, told reporters.

Congress was misleading people and it should come out with concrete measures on corruption, she said.

Another activist Rita Tripathi said that the UPA government should immediately come out with some measures on corruption and ensure that Hazare’s health did not deteriorate due to the fasting.
