Hyderabad, January 19: Unable to cope up with the fact that he is suffering from cancer, a person undergoing treatment at Medwin Hospital, Nampally, jumped to death from the sixth floor of the hospital building today morning.
A tailor by profession, Shadullah (32), who hails from Alwal in Dubbaka mandal in Medak district, was admitted to Medwin Hospital a week ago.
Around 9.30 a.m today, Shadullah, suddenly ran towards the window in the sixth floor of the hospital and jumped from it.
His aunt Saidabi and other hospital staff tried to prevent him by grabbing his shirt, Abids sub-inspector of police T Venugopal told Express.
Shadullah has been diagnosed to be suffering from cancer four months ago but his family members did not inform his about his ailment.
He was admitted to Medwin Hospital a week ago.
Shadullah is covered under Arogyasri scheme.
“Shadullah came to know of his disease after he was admitted to the cancer ward of the hospital. Since then he had been under severe depression fearing about the future of his three children,’’ Venugopal said.
Abids police registered a case under Section 174 (suspicious death) of CrPC and are investigating.
