Cancel BCCI deal with OPPO firm says RSS

New Delhi: Sawdeshi Jagaran Manch(SJM) a part of RSS party has recently written a letter to the Union Sports Ministry asking it to arbitrate and cancel the BCCI and Chinese company OPPO deal for the IPL 2017.

SJM is also planning to launch campaigns against the buying Chinese goods all over India.

The move against the Chinese goods is due to the adverse effect it is having on Indian Market, weakening the Indian market.

On 1st April, BCCI and OPPO have recently signed deal worth 1079 crore for the five year team sponsorship.

Ashwani Mahajan,National Co-Convenor of the SJM in his letter written to Union Sports minister Vijay Goel says, “Money cannot be important than national pride and welfare of our citizens and industry. It has been recently noticed that our cricket team is wearing jersey and other clothes bearing name of OPPO, a Chinese company which has flooded Indian mobile market. Cricket is one of the most popular sports in India and Indian team is being watched by a very large young population of the country in print and electronic media. This would not only misguide our youth in blindly go for buying Chinese brand but would also place us in a very awkward position and our campaign is likely to get badly affected by this,” he wrote in the letter.

Adding to which he said, “Chinese goods have invaded Indian markets which is not only killing our domestic production but also has direct negative impact on employment generation efforts made by the government. It has taken a shape of epidemic” , as reported in dailyhunt.
