Jens-Michael Schaal, Counsellor (Commercial-Ontario), High Commission of Canada, and Angela Menezes, Head-Visits, Logistics and Protocol, today met AP Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao at the A.P. Secretariat to discuss on the upcoming visit of Ms Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario, Canada to Andhra Pradesh early next year.
The Premier will be accompanied by a large business delegation focussed on sustainable development, urban infrastructure, renewable energy, environmental technologies and energy efficiency. During the visit, Ms Kathleen Wynne intends to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Government of Andhra Pradesh.
The MoU is meant for recognizing a mutual desire to further enhance and strengthen economic relations between Ontario and Andhra Pradesh and to facilitate dialogue and knowledge sharing in the area of climate change. The Ontario Province and the State of Andhra Pradesh provide frameworks for the pursuit of these common goals.
The Chief Secretary assured them that the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Andhra Pradesh Chapter will involve and co-ordinate with the High Commission, Canada, for the program. Industries Secretary S.S. Rawat, Director of Industries Kartikeya Mishra and others attended. (NSS)
