Can it be that time is fixed and we alone are in motion?’ muses Javed Akhtar

Poet-lyricist Javeed Akhtar presents a beautiful poetry in Urdu about ‘Time’. The programme was presented by Santiniketan & Doordarshan Kolkata.
After pondering over several questions about time, Mr. Akhtar wondered ‘can the time be fixed and we alone are in motion.’ He beautifully gave the example of a moving train for his imagination.
Javed Akhtar says, ‘Sometimes I think, when I see trees from a moving train. It seems they go in the opposite way. But in reality, trees are standing still.’
Similarly he wondered ‘so can it be that all centuries are standing still in a row. Can it be that time is fixed and we alone are in motion?’
The English translation of the beautiful poem is presented by his wife Shabana Azmi.
