We want to introduce to our readers a Masjid committee president who is the president of not one or two masajid but seven masajid. He is a real state businessman. An imam of one of the seven mosques told that this man forces him to serve the Masjid. When asked about salary he says ‘it will be given when you go to your state, you are from other state, be thankful that you have been given place to reside. Make it with the money you earn by teaching Arabic to locals children.’
Another imam narrated his sad tale saying that when he asked money from the Masjid president as his wife was ill and he needed money badly, the mosque committee president answered ‘you are Hafez-e-Quran’; why don’t you recite dua and blow it on phone, everything will be fine.’
Our correspondent met the Masjid committee president in the guise of a common musalli. During the talk, our correspondent saw a vast vacant land beside the mosque. He told to the Masjid committee president ‘nice land!’ Listening to this the Masjid president revealed that he wants to construct a function hall on the land. He also told that if any party supports him, he can construct the function hall on Waqf land on 50 50 basis. ‘Whatever impediment comes, I will manage’ he said.
The said Masjid committee president was counted among the notorious rowdy sheeters but using his influence he closed down his rowdy sheet in 2001. All the imams are fed up with the rude behaviour of this Masjid committee president.
