Hyderabad: A taxi driver got challan on Tuesday in Somajiguda area for not wearing the helmet while driving the car.
“While driving, I was stopped by the traffic police. Cops asked me to show the documents, and I did. I was not aware that I had got a challan for not wearing a helmet while driving a car. I discovered that only today’’, Vishnu said.
According to DC, a message was sent by the traffic police to the owner of the cab that a challan was issued on the vehicle number TS09ES4716 for the traffic violation of not wearing a helmet and was directed to pay Rs 100.
A legal procedure would be initiated against the owner if he does not pay the fine
Police officials dismissed the incident as a ‘rare’ mistake that happened while the cop was entering the violation on his tablet computer.
“It is a mistake. Such mistakes do happen as cops challan several drivers in a day,” DCP Traffic Ranganath said.
