Gene Editing is also called as ‘Genome Editing.’
In this technique, it involves the addition, insertion or removal of DNA at a specific site in the genome of an organism.
This is achieved by using engineered nucleases, also known as molecular scissors.
Genome Editing can be done by using engineered nucleases such as:
• CRISPR-Cas9
• Viral systems such as rAAV (Recombinant Adeno-Associated Virus)
• Transposons
• ZFNs or TALENs
