A mela will be held at all the GHMC Circle offices on Saturday during office hours for clearance of pending applications under the Building Penalisation Scheme (BPS). Simultaneously, a camp will be held at the GHMC head office for clearance of pending Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) applications.
Both camps started on Friday. Meanwhile, the Town Planning wing has started despatching BPS Final Notices to the applicants asking them to pay the balance penal fee within seven days failing which their applications will be rejected besides levying a penalty of 25 percent of property tax.
The unauthorised constructions will be treated as continuing offence and exemplary penalty would be levied under Schedule-U and V of the HMC Act 1955 that could be up to 10 percent of the total cost of building and land. Further, a case will be booked against the applicant and the premises will be sealed. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) and the Central Power Distribution Company Limited of Andhra Pradesh (CPDCL) will be asked to stop services to the above buildings. Finally, the unauthorised constructions will be demolished.
