Campaigning for Hyderabad civic polls gathers pace

Hyderabad, November 14: Campaigning for civic polls in Hyderabad gained momentum today with top leaders including TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu and Praja Rajyam chief Chiranjeevi getting into action.

“It is only Telugu Desam that has developed the city.

It was our government that had brought fame and prestige to Hyderabad. Congress Government could not pick up from where we left,” Naidu said, addressing campaign meetings at various places in the city.

TDP is contesting the November 23 election to 150-seat Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in alliance with the CPI and CPI(M).

CPI State Secretary K Narayana flagged off the party’s campaign vehicles at the party office today.

Smarting under the Congress rejection of an alliance for the city polls, Chiranjeevi sought to put his best foot forward by maintaining that his party would be different from Telugu Desam and Congress.
