Hyderabad, December 03: To build awareness among non-Muslims about the teachings and message of Quran, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Andhra Pradesh Zone will launch a statewide campaign from December 3 to 12 on the theme ‘Enlightened by Quran’.
Speaking to mediapersons here today, Mohammad Azharuddin, secretary, JIH said that the purpose of the campaign was to explore the teachings of Quran and its relevance in the modern society. “People are unaware of the unique prescriptions that the Quran offers to solve the miseries and sufferings of individuals and how it has been a powerful text that changed the course of history,” he said.
“The campaign will bring into serious debate what the Quran says about justice, emancipation of women and will also showcase the views of prominent non-Muslim Indians who were enlightened by Quran,” he added.
Mohammad Sadiq Ahmed, secretary of JIH said that the Quran campaign would strengthen the community relations in the country by enabling non-Muslims to understand the most important source of the faith of their Muslim fellow countrymen.
“The high profile campaign will be launched with massive inaugural programmes in Kurnool, Vijayawada and Hyderabad. The prominent activities of the campaign include intellectual talks, essay writing and elocution competitions, public meetings, symposium and seminars,” he added.
