Guwahati, August 18: A 26-year-old call centre executive working in Delhi today tested positive for swine flu taking the number of persons confirmed for the H1N1 virus in Assam to three.
Manjit Gogoi, hailing from the upper Assam district of Dibrugarh, tested positive for the virus and has been shifted to the isolation ward of the Assam Medical College Hospital, official sources said.
Gogoi had complained of pain and headache and was admitted to the hospital.
On the other hand, armyman Nayak Raj Kumar Sinha and Dheeraj Yadav who tested positive are currently undergoing treatment at the army hospital in Guwahati’s Bashistha area.
Assam’s joint director of health services G P Sarma said the state health department has sent 43 samples for testing, the results of which are awaited.
