Washington : A big clap for Caitlyn Jenner and her gang of girls as ‘I Am Cait’ has won the honour of ‘ Outstanding Reality Program’ at the 27th Annual GLAAD Media Awards.

E!’s acclaimed series has tied with TLC’s ‘ I Am Jazz’ to win this honour, reports E! Online.

In its applauded first season, the show documented Caitlyn’s transition and her introduction into the world as a transgender woman, including legally changing her name and accepting the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2015 ESPYs.

When the nominations were released in January, Caitlyn took to her Twitter handle to express excitement over the recognition, “We are proud to be nominated for a @GLAAD Media Award! #glaadawards.”

GLAAD CEO and president Sarah Kate Ellis also released the following statement along with the announcement, “For nearly three decades, the GLAAD Media Awards have propelled inclusion in media and driven LGBT acceptance forward. This year’s nominees have raised the bar for creating thoughtful and diverse LGBT images and storylines, deepening audiences’ understanding of LGBT people and accelerating acceptance across the world.”(ANI)
