Telangana BJP President Dr. K. Lakshman said that the findings of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) were a slap on the face of TRS Government.
Addressing a press conference at BJP Headquarters at Nampally on Friday, Lakshman said that the CAG has pointed out the wrong policies and decisions of State Government. He said that the CAG report has revealed that the State Government did not utilise Central funds. Although the BJP leaders have repeatedly reminded the State Government about it, but TRS regime did not accept its mistake.
Lakshman said that the Telangana State was in a deficit of over Rs. 5,000 crore. However, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has misled the people by making wrong claims of Telangana being a revenue surplus State and presenting inflated figures in the annual budget. He said the report was presented on the last day of budget session as the government feared that it would get exposed if report was presented earlier.
The BJP leader said only Rs. 800 crore were spent on Palamuru Lift Irrigation Project and the Mission Kakatiya works too were going on in a slow pace. He said that CAG also exposed that the number of school drop outs have increased in Telangana and over 78% schools lacked basic amenities. (INN)
