Mir Chowk police arrested a cable TV channel operator of old city on the charges of telecasting blasphemous film. According to inspector Mir Chowk Mr. S Venkat Reddy, police yesterday evening arrested news editor of cable TV channel Syed Ismail, on the charges of hurting religious sentiments.
It must be noted that day before yesterday, the public had staged protest in front of the channel office and has caused damages to the office, in protest against telecasting film, based on two Prophets.
Mir Chowk police while registering case against channel administration has also registered case against channel chairman Abdur Raheem Yamani, director Kaleem and news editor Syed Ismail.
