In a bid to fill its coffers by selling its land to boost development in the state, Government today approved in a Cabinet meeting to bring in a new land acquisition act. The Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao given its nod for a new land Acquisition Act, besides making online all the government payments through departments. According to information, the Cabinet approved to constitute a committee of IT and Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao to deal with cashless transactions across the state in the wake of demonetization and its adverse affect.
The Cabinet also decided to set up a committee to be headed by Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao to look into Krishna water board allocations and move Supreme Court if necessary to get the rightful share of the waters to Telangana. According to information, the Cabinet has also approved to constitute a committee to be headed by Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari to look into setting up private universities in the state. It also decided to shift staff from departments with less work to those with more work.T he cabinet decided to name Veterinary University after former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao.
The chief minister also prepared a strategy to conduct Winter session of Assembly beginning Dec 16 at 10 am. It is learnt that KCR asked his Cabinet colleagues to come well prepared to the house and corner the opposition which is expected to make its voice heard on some issues. (NSS)
