Cabinet meet on KCR’s return from Delhi visit gains Importance

Hyderabad: The State Cabinet is likely to be convened to meet on Tuesday evening once again triggering off speculations about Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao planning to advance the elections in the state.

The Chief Minister is returning to the city this evening after completing his three-day visit to New Delhi where he had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely and Union Minister for Highways Nitin Gadkari and tried to get clearance for pending projects and also resolve certain crucial issues concerning the state.

KCR is likely to convene the state cabinet, most probably tomorrow itself, wherein he is expected his ministerial colleagues about the outcome of his Delhi visit and deliberations with the Prime Minister and other central ministers. It is also expected that certain crucial administrative decisions would be taken by the cabinet. As a matter of fact the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister has circulated a note to the Secretaries of various departments to get ready papers and proposals that require administrative approval of the cabinet.

One of the important decisions expected to be taken at the cabinet meeting is with regard to the government issuing a notification for filling up as many as 50,000 job vacancies in the wake of the central government’s clearance for the new zonal system. While 95 percent of the vacancies would be reserved for locals only and the rest five percent would be for open category.

There is also a strong feeing in political and official circles that a decision would be taken at the cabinet meeting regarding advancing the elections in the state for which the Assembly has to be dissolved by September 10 and for which the approval of the cabinet is mandatory.
It is pertinent note here that IT Minister K.T.Rama Rao had to persistent queries by media personnel early polls in the state quipped that clarity in this regard will be known in four days. This comment is being construed as an indication that the Chief Minister might make an announcement in this regard at the TRS mass rally scheduled for September 2.

While political circles are abuzz with speculations of early elections in the state, the Chief Minister is keeping close to his chest a decision in this regard and thus heightening the suspense and tensions among the ruling class.
