Cabinet hikes 10 pc DA for central staffs

New Delhi, September 16: In a bid to provide some relief from spiraling inflation, the Union Cabinet approved a proposal to hike Dearness Allowance (DA) by 10 percent for central government employees and pensioners.

The union cabinet met in Delhi to discuss a proposal for a 10 percent hike in the Dearness Allowance (DA) following the high rate of inflation in the past six months.

The 10 percent hike in DA will bring relief from soaring price for around 50 lakh employees and 38 lakh pensioners.

The Central Government employees and pensioners are already getting 35 percent DA of their basic pay. The DA will be implemented as per the formula of sixth pay commission and will be effective from July 1.

The hike in DA will increase salary from 1000 to 10000 per month.
