Cabinet Approves Draft Law to Protect Power Network

Abu Dhabi, October 01: His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, chaired the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday at the Presidential Palace in the presence of Lt-General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister.

The meeting discussed main achievements of the Council of Ministers and the Ministerial Council for Services from January to September this year in the light of the report submitted to it by the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs.

The Cabinet approved a number of the draft federal laws and other public-related issues. It approved the draft law on protection of the General Network of the Federal Electricity and Water Authority from offenders.

It endorsed the final accounts of Empost, the Federal Customs Authority and the Shaikh Zayed Housing Programme for the fiscal year ended 2008. It also endorsed the final accounts of other autonomous authorities in the fiscal year that ended December 2008, as well as the federal draft law in this respect. The Cabinet approved the request of the Federal National Council to discuss the policies of the Ministry of Finance and endorsement of a number of agreements signed by the UAE with some sisterly countries in the investment fields.

It also endorsed a number of public appointments.
