Kurnool, January 28: The Chief Minister Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy stated here that the Congress party was compelled to beg for the votes at the time of elections, as the implementation of the welfare programmes was not explained effectively to the people.
Speaking at the ‘Racchabanda’ programme in this district, Mr Reddy asserted that the State Government was spending huge amounts on welfare programmes for the benefit of the people in general and the weaker sections in particular. No other State in the country was spending that huge amount on welfare programme as Andhra Pradesh. If this fact is properly explained to the effectively by the Ministers, MLAs and party workers, it would benefit the party, he said.
The Chief Minister also said that unless the people had proper understanding and awareness of the welfare programmes, they would not believe the claims made on the eve of elections. The in-charges of the Assembly constituencies and Ministers could discuss with him on the needed funds for different programmes, and to solve the problems of the people, he added.
