Byreddy Quits TDP Over Naidu Letter To PM

Kurnool district senior leader and TDP general secretary Byreddy Rajashekar Reddy has tendered his resignation to the primary membership of the party in protest against TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s letter to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Byreddy asked Chandrababu Naidu what would be the fate of Rayalaseema if the Centre conceded Telangana State demand. He said that he had joined the TDP due to respect of late NTR who sincerely worked for integrated State. “In those days, the TDP slogan was ‘Cheyyethi Jai Kottu Telugoda’ but now Chandrababu was advocating ‘Cheyyethi Jaikottu Telanganoda’.

Reminding that he was stating from the beginning that he would fight for the sake of Rayalaseema’s self-respect, Byreddy said that Chandrababu’s letter to the Prime Minister in favour of Telangana disturbed him a lot. He asked Chandrababu Naidu as to why he failed to include Rayalaseema issue in the letter.

TDP MLA Amarnath Reddy has demanded that Chandrababu Naidu withdraw his letter immediately. He warned Chandrababu that he was ready to tender resignation to the party. He also made it clear that he would fight for the sake of United Andhra Pradesh State. (NSS)
