Nearly 55,000 idols of Lord Ganesha, big and small, were immersed in Hussain Sagar and other water bodies in and around Hyderabad.
Within hours of immersion began the cleanup operation of the lakes. Professional divers and other devotees dived into water bodies to ensure the proper immersion of the idols and retrieval of currency notes and coins and other precious offerings.
The Government agencies have also started clearing lakes beginning Friday.
