Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao today directed the officials to take immediate action to bring power required for State from Chattisgarh.
At a high-level review meeting on power shortage and modalities to tide over the crisis with a focus on immediate needs and long-term needs, KCR asked the officials to sign a Memo of Understanding with Chattisgarh Government and get 2,000 MW power needed for next five years.
On the decision taken to purchase about 4500 MW power, KCR instructed the officials to get 1000 MW from Power Grid Corporation of India and erect lines immediately to bring at least 1500 MW now and 2500 MW later from Chattisgarh, he directed. He also asked the officials to erect lines to ensure that power be transferred to Telangana State without delay.
