Businessman threatened in Dawood’s name

Hyderabad, June 30: A businessman of Rajasthani origin who tried to extort Rs 5 lakh from a local trader as a underworld Dawood gang member was today. Moolchand Bhati, a 29-year-old a native of Rajasthan State had came down to Hyderabad about five years ago along with his family, after his studio in Talsar village in Nagaur District had trapped.

His attempt to retail cashewnut in the city from the Palasa factories in Srikakulam too failed. In the meantime, he happened to meet his schoolmate Ram Prakash, who worked with a businessman Devkaran Jangid, a resident of Gyanbagh colony under Shahinayatgunj Police Station. Through him, the accused came to know about his family history, financial status, cell phone numbers.On coming to know about the financial background of the businessman, the accused hatched a plan to extort money.

Accordingly, he obtained new SIM card connections with the help fake and fabricated identity and residential proofs and began threatening the businessman that he belonged to be the dreaded underworld Dawood Ibrahim gang andwould kidnap and kill one of his children, if he failed to pay of Rs 5 Lakhs by June 29. A special team of Commissioners Task Force worked out on the clues, laid a trap and nabbed the extornist today. A computer used prepared fake identity proofs such as ration cards. Thethreat letters and SIM cards used in the offence were seized. The accused is being handed over to Shahinayathgunj Police Station, Hyderabad along with seized property for further investigation, a police release here said.
