Businessman shot dead in Delhi

New Delhi: Two persons, including a woman, were murdered in two separate incidents which took place in west Delhi’s Nihal Vihar area today.

In the first incident, a 28-year-old businessman was shot dead by two assailants on a motorbike in the evening.

The businessman, identified as Rahul Aggarwal, was a supplier of grocery items to shopkeepers in Nihal Vihar area, had gone to collect money from a grocer at Nilothi Mor.

“Two unidentified men arrived on a motorbike and shot him. The bullet hit Aggarwal near the chest and he collapsed while the assailants fled,” said a senior police official.

Aggarwal was rushed to Maharaja Agrasen Hospital where he was declared dead.

Police is suspecting business rivalry as the reason behind the murder.

In the second case, a 23-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband, who was in inebriated condition, following an argument.

The accused, Pradeep, was demanding money from his wife to buy liquor. When she refused, he held her head and smashed it on the wall due to which she started bleeding profusely.

Monika collapsed on the floor after which Pradeep fled from the spot.

Neighbours alerted the police who have registered a case of murder and launched a hunt for Pradeep.
