Businessman Buys Junk Aeroplane For Scrap At Rs 18 Lakhs

Rakesh Dikshit, a businessman in Alipur, Delhi has brought the entire shell of a junk passenger aeroplane for Rs 18 lakhs to be used as part of his Sai Museum.

The plane, with its wings and tailend sawed off, was loaded on to a truck.

It was released from Indira Gandhi International airport here at around midnight, and after the truck carrying the plane made its away to Narela early in the morning, a huge crowd of onlookers assembled causing a traffic snarl.

The local police swung into action and asked the plane be kept at the kerb. It will be allowed to proceed on Saturday midnight again.

Says Rakesh Dikshit: “I have this hobby of buying curious things for our Sai Museum. We will convert this plane body into a museum.”
